Mae Barker, PhD, BCBA-D

Hello! Thank you for visiting my page! I’m Dr. Mae Barker, a Doctoral-level Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D), with a passion for helping children and families.   Since 1997, I’ve been providing behavioral services to help children of all ages and abilities who are struggling due to skill deficits and behavioral concerns.

My approach focuses on empowering parents, caretakers, and educators by teaching them effective techniques based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis.  I want parents to know that they are not alone in worrying about their children or feeling overwhelmed with parenting and other life demands. Parenting is HARD work, but it can also be extremely rewarding. At the end of the day, I want to teach parents the tools that not only change their children’s behavior in a meaningful way, but, more importantly, help to strengthen the relationships between them and their children.

I am a parent of three children, ranging in ages from 2 to 12 years of age. I strive each day to practice with my own children what I teach others. I find my best days are those that start with a cup of coffee and a brief period of mindfulness, reading, and thoughtful reflection about my own parenting. My children, my husband and I are far from perfect, but each day we learn how to better relate to each other, how to communicate our needs, and interact with each other and the world. Please reach out if I can support you and your family in your own learning process.
