Parent Consultation/Coaching:

Dr. Barker meets with you (and sometimes your child too) to address your concerns about your child.   This involves assessing the nature of your child’s behavioral problems or skill deficits. She then provides individualized recommendations specific to your child.  Parents will receive coaching and guidance on how to implement recommended strategies. Parent are expected to share information with Dr. Barker during the treatment process in order for her to provide the best guidance. Consultation may be provided face-to-face, online, email or phone communication.    

School Consultation/Collaborative Problem-Solving:

Dr. Barker can work collaboratively with your child’s school team should your child be having concerns at school. This may involve observing your child at school, meeting with you and your child’s teacher and other relevant team members, providing coaching and guidance to school staff, and/or reviewing your child’s educational records or documentation such as Individualized Education Plans (IEP) or 504 plans. Such consultation can be provided as long as your child’s school is open to such collaboration and parents provide proper consent.

Cost for Services:

  • Online Consultation:  $130/hour

  • Home Consultation (2 hr minimum):  $225 per hour

  • School Consultation (2 hr minimum): $225 per hour

    • If consultation is provided OUTSIDE of Duval, Clay or St. Johns Counties, a travel charge will be applied depending on how far Dr. Barker must travel. This will be decided and agreed upon prior to service delivery.

Forms of payment accepted:  Cash, Check, Credit Card, Venmo, PayPal, Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending funds, Step Up for Students (PLSA) Scholarship, United Healthcare Scholarship.  

Insurance is not accepted.  Upon request, an itemized statement can be provided to you for submission to your insurance on an out-of-network basis.  Please note:  Due to the complicated nature of insurance, reimbursement for such services is not guaranteed.

Prior to scheduling an appointment, Dr. Barker will talk with you briefly about the nature of your child's problem to see how she can best assist.  She will then schedule an appointment accordingly.
